Zuma Canyon
Girls love the earth! Come on out with your Troop and participate in an ecological restoration project of the National Park Service, in cooperation with the California Coastal Conservancy. Zuma Canyon is a wonderful part of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and contains a variety of plant communities: Coastal Sage Scrub, Riparian (streamside), Oak Woodland and Chaparral. We will plant native plants, improving biodiversity and water quality while having FUN! After the planting, we’ll be led on a 1-hour explorative walk through Zuma Canyon with a Park Ranger. We will be earning the “California Natives” IP and the “Linking Girls to the Land” patch. FREE Bus transportation is available from the Council offices with a minimum of 25 registered.
