National Public Lands Day is a tradition in the Golden Gate National Parks and this year it holds even more significance with the President’s national call to service and the launch of Ken Burns' documentary, The National Parks: America’s Best Idea.  Help us celebrate our community and our public lands by volunteering in your cherished National Park lands next door.  We’ll have a handful of project options to suit different interests and abilities, including habitat restoration, vegetation management, and grounds and trail maintenance.

Choose your favorite activity and bring good energy, your waiver form, and the proper clothing. We’ll take care of the rest (tools, supplies, and project leadership). Bring the whole family and friends – the event is for EVERYONE. It’s fun, it’s healthy and it makes a difference!

Special Treats:

Individuals and groups are welcome. RSVP is requested and appreciated.  Contact us at (415) 561-3044 or volunteer@parksconservancy.org.

Remember your Waiver Forms (see links below)! Any volunteer under the age of 18 must have the parent/guardian approval section signed.

This event is being generously co-sponsored by National Public Lands Day, Take Pride in America, and Travelocity Travel for Good.

National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy. In 2009, 130,000 volunteers will build trails and bridges, remove trash and invasive plants and plant trees.

The Golden Gate National Parks Volunteer Program is a cooperative parkwide effort of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the National Park Service, and the Presidio Trust.
