Lake Red Rock
"Cache In - Trash Out" during "The Biggest Geocaching Event at Iowa's Biggest Lake" on September 18! Stop by the Lake Red Rock Visitor Center to pick up a garbage bag along with your GPS coordinates, and pick up litter while you search for approximately 100 geocaches hidden around the lake! Locks and Dam #14 Day Use Recreation Area
On the 15th, students from Pleasant Valley High School, (Pleasant Valley, Iowa) will be on site to do a couple of projects: 1. Working on a praire plot. Students will be cutting and removing overgrown/tall praire plants and non native growth from this site. 2. Collecting praire seed from another praire plot located close to the plot specified above (that the high school students last year planted). This seed will be planted/dispersed in another section of praire located by the project's entrance road. This will be a "closed" event since volunteers are proveded by the high school. No recruitment of help/public assistnce is needed.
