Celebrating Our Environment on National Public Lands Day
Nancy Sutley, Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, talks about the great time she had volunteering on NPLD. "We spent the morning working with youth groups who put a lot of elbow grease into planting trees, removing debris and spreading mulch."
Mrs. Sutley volunteered at Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens in Washington, DC. She was one of several guest speakers, including EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, who greeted volunteers and helped kick-off the signature event.
