Atlanta – On Saturday, September 28, more than 180,000 volunteers nationwide, including founders of the Atlanta-based GreenHouse Foundation, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell, Environmental Protection Agency Deputy Administrator Bob Perciasepe and nearly 400 volunteers at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site (MLK, Jr. NHS), are expected to visit their favorite parks, beaches, wildlife preserves or forests and chip in to help improve these treasured places.

National Environmental Education Foundation Celebrates 20th Anniversary of National Public Lands Day on September 28th

The largest single-day volunteer effort for public lands in the United States, National Public Lands Day (NPLD), will celebrate 20 years of service on Saturday, September 28th. More than 180,000 volunteers are expected at more than 2,200 sites across the country to take part in this national initiative sponsored by TOYOTA.

NEEF & PwC Launch Free Financial Education for Public Lands Organizations

WASHINGTON, December 4, 2012 — To boost the capacity of public lands groups nationwide in supporting parks and other public lands, the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) and PwC have launched free, online financial training at the Public Lands Every Day website, publiclandseveryday.org

NEEF and PwC collaborated on the development of six learning modules to meet a growing need for knowledge of financial management and reporting among organizations known as public lands friends groups.

Students Play Key Role on National Public Lands Day

Washington, D.C. – College and university students across the nation will play a vital role in National Public Lands Day (NPLD) on September 29. Student volunteers will be part of an effort at more than 2,100 sites to sustain our parks, beaches, forests and other lands we conserve and use for outdoor recreation, education and enjoyment.
