Join staff and volunteers for a day of trail work and monarch butterfly conservation! We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us with two different projects: We are in need of groups and individuals to help us combat erosion on a historic farm lane located below Chinn Ridge - scene of some of the heaviest combat during the Second Battle of Manassas.  Help us restore this hallowed ground as we install culverts and waterbars, resurface the trail tread, and repair wash-outs (ages 14 and up, activity will take place from 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.). In addition we are looking for volunteers to assist with monarch butterfly conservation!  We need volunteers to accomplish several different tasks with this project:  We will be mapping milkweed locations througout the park to document the number of plants, we will collect milkweed seeds from pre-selected habitat, and we will prep the seeds for future planting.  Come join us as we work to improve monarch habitat at Manassas Battlefield (all ages accepted, activity will take place from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.).

Event Date and Time:
Saturday, September 26, 2015 - 8:30am - 2:00pm
