Roosevelt National Forest; Canyon Lakes Ranger District
This year's project is located at Bellaire Lake Campground near Red Feather Lakes. A significant proportion of the mature lodgepole pine in the campground has been killed by mountain pine beetle and cut and removed. Lodgepole pine is expected to naturally regenerate and ponderosa and limber pine and Douglas fir have been planted. Participants will have an opportunity to plant additional trees and shrubs near camping sites and the Day Use Area. Participants will also have an opportunity to learn about archeology and fisheries.
A free lunch is offered and this meal can be enjoyed while listening to the music of a live bluegrass band.
