Branch Brook Park Alliance

The Branch Brook Park Alliance (BBPA) has worked with the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs since 1999 to restore and revitalize the historic Essex County Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ. BBPA engages volunteers to take an active role in caring for their local park and encourage others to visit and learn about the public lands of Newark.

Brach Brook Park Alliance was awarded a 2011 Every Day Capacity Building Grant:

Project Summary:  After years of extensive deterioration, BBPA and Essex County have succeeded in reversing the park’s decline, raising a total investment of $30,000,000 for capital projects completed to date. In the next three years, BBPA is committed to raising additional funding to complete remaining capital projects and to provide for the park’s long-term care.  In order to sustain this level of fundraising, BPPA needs a more efficient database system to aid in managing donors. BBPA will use their Every Day Capacity Building Grant to purchase a donor database system that will allow them to better communicate with their constituency, manage and expand their donor base and recruit and retain volunteers as stewards of the park.
