Eno River Association
The Eno River flows through central North Carolina and several parks including, the Eno River State Park, the Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area, West Point on the Eno Durham City Park, Penny’s Bend Nature Preserve and the Little River Regional Park. Eno River Association mainly focuses on the protection and restoration of land in the Eno River basin.
Other projects of Eno River Association include educational programming, nature hikes and the annual Festival for the Eno.
Eno River Association was awarded a 2011 Every Day Capacity Building Grant:
Project Summary: Eno River Association first developed their website in 1996. Since then it has grown to over 400 pages, featuring the largest repository of information on the Eno River. With so much content, and only one part-time staff member with knowledge of website management, maintenance has become difficult. Additionally, the Association believes the foundational architecture of their site is confusing and outdated.
The Association will use grant funds to work with professional contractors to perform a full redesign of the website, focusing on ease of use for both visitors and staff. The work will be focused on web programming and the addition of new content, especially as related to their land protection work. Additionally, staff will receive training to improve their capacity to maintain, author and edit web content.
