Friends of Flight 93 National Memorial (Friends) has had the difficult task of building a new organization from the ground up at the same time the staff is working hard on the development of the Flight 93 National Memorial. The Friends efforts are paying off as they are increasing in membership, raising funds towards the construction of the memorial and planning educational programs to teach families about the meaning of 9/11, both in 2001 and today.

Friends of Flight 93 National Memorial was awarded a 2011 Every Day Capacity Building Grant:

Project Summary: The Friends of Flight 93 National Memorial is a young organization that needs to craft a vigorous plan of outreach and communication to increase its capacity to attract members, donors, and partners. In order to do so, Friends of Flight 93 must develop an organizational identity.

Grant funds will be used to engage a professional design firm in guiding them in translating their internal identity into a brand, starting with a clear and compelling logo. The logo will then be used to create specific design templates for critical media, including letterhead, membership brochures, paper and electronic newsletter and merchandise. The materials produced will project a professional image, clearly identify them with the Flight 93 National Memorial and will effectively carry their message to the public.
