The Step into America 2012 video contest is an ideal opportunity for outdoor and recreation enthusiasts to showcase what they enjoy doing on public lands to keep their bodies and minds healthy. In a 30 to 120 second video, share:

• What activities you do at one or more public spaces you love to visit; and
• How America’s public lands benefit your body or mind.

Do you enjoy pedaling along mountain bike trails, sitting in the grass with a book or having someplace special to breathe in the fresh air?

Public lands can range from a wide-open area like Olympic National Park in Washington to an urban place such as Boone Street Garden in Baltimore. No matter where you live, there is a public land nearby that can keep you fit and healthy.

Prizes and Sponsor

One (1) First Place Winner

REI tent and a Novara Bonanza Bike, valued at approximately $750.

Two (2) Runners-up

REI outdoor camping starter kit valued at approximately $425 each. The packs may include a tent, sleeping bag, tent footprint and/or lookout pack.

Here's How to Participate

To participate:

• In a 30 to 120 second video, share what activities you do at one or more public lands you love to visit. Make sure the video shows the NPLD logo for minimum of three (3) seconds. Download the logo.
• Submit your contest entry via the Step into America 2012 video contest Wufoo form.

In 2010, NPLD held its first annual Video Contest, themed "How Do You Love Your Favorite Public Land?" We invited individuals to show us how they enjoy and care for these special places.
