Department of Defense Legacy Resource Management Program
The Department of Defense (DoD) Legacy Resource Management Program provides funds to the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) for National Public Lands Day (NPLD) projects on military lands open to the public for recreation.

The DoD Legacy Resource Management Program began its partnership with NPLD in 1999. Since then, NPLD has distributed over $1.8 million to military lands for various natural and cultural resource restoration projects.
Military installations apply for an NPLD DoD Legacy Award through a competitive funding applicaton process. For details on the Legacy Program and past awarded projects read the fact sheets or final reports.
